Steven is a proven visionary leader, strategist, entrepreneur, coach and change agent. His interest and work focuses primarily on the intersectionality of Sustainability, Education, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Economic Development and the African Diaspora. He has worked with nonprofit and educational organizations, businesses and communities on sustainability, leadership, strategy and development; specializing in creating impact with communities of color. He is currently working with the NAACP on a research project involving the Green Building Design and Construction Market.

 

 

Steven is a founder and former CEO of a nonprofit school designed to train students in sustainability. He has mentored entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to Angel Investors and to open new social innovative tech businesses; coached leaders to improve their process and performance. He is the Chief SustainabilityStrategist for Global Sustainable Solutions whose priority is to bring greater diversity to environmental/sustainability organizations. One of his current projects is focused on increasing the participation of students of color in environmental/sustainability careers through project-based experiences, academic programs, workforce opportunities and entrepreneurial projects

Steven has served as a Visiting Scholar, conducted research in the United States, Cameroon, Benin, Hong Kong, Europe and the Caribbean. He’s lived, worked and attended university in China; worked on sustainability issues with the Hong Kong Transport Department and participated in a Think Tank exercise on business development along the Pearl River Delta in China. At Cornell University he conducted research on Green Jobs and creating a Low Carbon Green Economy, worked with labor leaders around the world through the Global Labor Institute and facilitated a Black Trade Union Leadership Program. He is a Environmental Leadership Program Senior Fellow, a Member of the NAACP Environmental and Climate Justice Committee and a Member of the Association of Environmental Studies and Sciences. Steven holds a BA degree in Anthropology from Pace University and a Masters degree in International Affairs from The New School in New York City.
